What can I use this service for?
Use this tool to estimate the fee for requesting a local review. You can use this service if you have applied for a local development that was decided on by a council officer rather than a committee and either:
- A decision was not made within the statutory timeframe (you may have the right to request a review due to non-determination).
- You want to challenge the decision made on your application or any conditions imposed on it and have the right to request a review.
If you have questions about requesting a review or appealing, check your decision notice and contact your planning authority.

Your fee will be estimated
The fees obtained from using this service should be treated as an estimate only.
We recommend contacting your local authority directly if you have questions about the appeal or wish to confirm the fee.
Before you start
Before using the local review fee calculator, have the following information ready:
- the type of application you made
- what the work involved (such as the type and scale of work)
- plans, decision notice and reasons for appeal
The more information you can provide us with, the more accurately we can estimate your fee.
